Zendaya wore a strapless black Valentino ball gown to the Emmys

Zendaya has arrived at the 2022 Emmy Awards looking every bit the history-making nominee that she is.

On 12 September, Zendaya posted a glimpse of her Emmys gown while on her way to the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Styled by Law Roach, the actor and producer wore a black strapless ball gown by Valentino paired with a Bulgari choker and a black ribbon headband.

In 2020, Zendaya made history when she took home the award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for Euphoria at just 24 years old, making her the youngest woman ever to snag the prize. This year, Zendaya is officially the youngest two-time lead actress nominee at 26 years old, having been nominated for outstanding lead actress yet again (she was just 25 when the nominations were announced in July 2022).

To make her achievements even more historic, Zendaya is officially the youngest woman to ever be nominated in a producing category as an executive producer of Euphoria season two. She's also nominated for her contribution to two songs featured during the season,  “I'm Tired” and “Elliot's Song.” Per Collider, Zendaya is now the first Black woman to be nominated for songwriting and acting in the same year.  Yes, your girl is now a five-time Emmy nominee before she was even required to ditch her parents' health insurance.

“There is hope in the young people out there,” Zendaya said during her 2020 Emmy Award acceptance speech. 

In the press room, she added, “I don’t usually cry, and I got through it without letting it take over completely, but it was a very emotional moment. I still can’t believe it myself. It’s pretty crazy. It’s moments like this that we all have to all hold onto and cherish. I’m just grateful that my whole family is all here to celebrate with me and be here. I definitely felt this wrapping of love around me as I was sitting here. I’m just trying to take it all in and all the moments of joy and happiness that we do have.”
